Bridgespace coworking - interview with Joanna Gough

I recently had the pleasure to chat with Joanna Gough, founder of Sun Souls, a healing collective.

Sun Souls blends ancient wisdom with modern techniques to craft immersive, nurturing experiences in urban spaces—guiding individuals on a journey of self-exploration and enhanced productivity.

Joanna has recently moved to Portland (a year ago as of this post). She grew up in Malaysia. Her entrepreneurial experience begins with an e-commerce food company she started there, which ran for 4 years. She achieved a million in revenue, with 800 restaurant partners. During COVID, her business transitioned to grocery delivery. After closing this company in 2021, she moved to Houston, Texas, and worked with startups in NYC, as part of an advisory committee. She also worked as CEO for an AI voice company, and a venture capital firm.

In the summer of 2024, she landed in PDX and started Sun Souls, after being enamored with the wellness community she met here. In April 2025 she threw 30 events in 4 days for Portland Startup Week. Shortly after she partnered up with Bridgespace coworking and started promoting events through various meetups like Code & Coffee.

She is launching her own brand of Bridgespace coworking soon, currently a move in progress (location TBD). There will be breathwork, soundbaths, and art therapy at the space. She delights in introducing the many benefits of a wellness practice to the tech community - many of the coworking tenants work in the tech space. She is planning on a launch date the 22nd.

Besides Sun Souls and Bridgespace coworking, she also works for Pulse Impact Ventures.

She also has an upcoming event giving back to the community, by offering free website help, in 30 minutes. You can sign up here.
